Dental Cleanings & Exams

One of the most important ways to maintain your child’s oral health is by keeping their teeth clean. This means brushing and flossing regularly, as well as coming in for teeth cleaning every six months. Our dental team will remove any plaque or tartar buildup to aid in the prevention of cavities. At these exams, we also like to educate children on the importance of good dental hygiene so that they can develop a positive relationship with regular teeth brushing and dental exams.

Fluoride Treatment

Fluoride is a mineral that helps to protect teeth against cavities and tooth decay. At All Stars Pediatric Dentistry, we offer fluoride treatments for children as a way to further prevent dental problems down the road. The treatments are quick, easy, and completely painless. They are used for strengthening the teeth and further preventing cavities and other conditions. Fluoride treatments are safe for children from the time they get their very first tooth.

Spacers

When a child’s adult teeth start coming in, they can push other teeth out of place and create crowding, preventing future teeth from coming in straight. That’s why spacers may be beneficial to your child. They keep spaces open for future adult teeth and avoid complications from teeth being out of place. If your child needs braces in the future, spacers can also help make the orthodontic treatment process go more smoothly. They can be inserted between teeth to create a gap for the eventual placement of braces.

X-Rays

X-rays allow us to see inside the teeth and gums and can help us identify any potential problems that may need to be addressed. They allow dentists to have a better view of the teeth and identify one of the most common problems seen in young children: cavities. X-rays allow us to more easily identify where cavities are even in the early stages of development.

Fillings and Sealants

If your child does develop a cavity, we offer fillings as a treatment option. Fillings take the place of a cavity and prevent its spread. They allow the teeth to have a normal shape again without any holes. We also offer sealants, which are a plastic coating that is applied to the chewing surfaces of back teeth. They're like a shield that keeps food and bacteria from getting stuck in the grooves of teeth. This helps to protect the teeth from plaque and acids that can cause cavities. While fillings are used as a treatment for cavities, sealants are a preventative measure.

Dr. John and his entire team are the absolute best!! We’ve been taking our 8 year old son for a few years now and just had our 3 year old daughters first cleaning. They always make our kiddos feel so comfortable, and give them extra care and attention.
